Booking the Cheshire Consort
The first step is to telephone or email Alison McLay. Alison will have a preliminary chat with you about the sort of music you want, the date, time and venue, rehearsal arrangements on the day, and any special requirements you may have. She will give you a price for our services, which will include the fee for the Consort itself, the conductor’s fees and (if required) the organist’s. If this is acceptable to you, she will send you a contract to sign, and ask you to pay a small deposit.
As all members of the Consort give their time voluntarily and free of charge, we would also ask you to provide some light refreshments for the singers, either between rehearsal and the ceremony, or at its conclusion.
We do not normally charge travel expenses, which is why we usually restrict our engagements to the Cheshire area. However, if singers do have to travel particularly long distances we may also request a small donation towards travel costs.
Nearer the day, we will be in touch again to confirm the music, the order of service, and rehearsal arrangements.
